Starring internationally-acclaimed tenor, Ric Furman, this masterful “rescue opera” tells the redemptive story of a woman’s heroic journey to save her husband from prison after being wrongfully detained by a political rival. This Springfield-area Premiere features the famous “Prisoner’s Chorus” and Beethoven’s typical lush, passionate music which was written at a time when he was experiencing his own Deafness and is now seen as a daring, Romantic Period tale of the composer’s own triumph over oppression.
