Ozarks Lyric Opera Presents: The Tender Land 11/8/24
The Tender Land – Aaron Copland The Tender Land, set in the rural American 1930s heartland—perhaps on Route 66, The Mother Road, not too far from here—tells the intimate story of a young woman and her family at the moment of decision. Laurie, about to graduate, knows her family is proud of her and hopeful, but she feels strange about her place in the world—at once drawn to familiar traditions and beckoned by the wide unknown. Enter strangers. Enter unexpected, tender love. And enter, necessarily, loss and letting go. This coming-of-age tale is full of fun, dancing, thanksgiving, and becoming. Copeland’s music, including some of his best-known choral scores, “The Promise of Living” and “Stomp Your Foot,” achieves its fullest potential. Bring your family. Let your heart be tugged, turned, and set free. * A portion of your ticketing fee goes toward the OLO Endowment Fund ANN MARIE-DAEHNDirectorCHRIS THOMPSONConductorZOE MEIER JUHLINas Laurie MossTANNER MUNSONas Martin NOV. 8, 2024Showtime: 7:30pmDoors Open: 6:30pm For Senior or Group (8+) discounts please call 417-863-9491 for assistance. ____________________________________________________________________________________ If you or a member of your party require ADA seating, please call us at 417-863-9491 to reserve your seats.
