One of the most creative exports in Springfield history is back for one final television episode on Friday, June 18 at the Historic Gillioz Theatre.
The brainchild of Jeff Houghton, The Mystery Hour began with an exclusively live audience and has grown to be broadcast literally coast to coast. This while maintaining one of the largest live audiences of any late night programming The Mystery Hour has consistently featured viral-worthy comedy, outstanding music, and guests that fly in from shows like The Office, Parks n Rec, Sportscenter, Seinfeld, Mad Men, and more. Hosted by 4 time Emmy award winner, Jeff Houghton, formerly of the Late Show with David Letterman, the show’s ninth season was interrupted by Covid-19 before Houghton pivoted the format to online based content. Now The Mystery Hour returns to the stage of the Historic Gillioz and allows the audience a final opportunity to be a part of the phenomenon as the show records its’ final television episode.
Ever evolving, Houghton has plans beyond this final episode, localizing his efforts while planning to continue the live show and creating digital content. The June 18 episode will conclude this television chapter, but the Mystery will remain a Springfield treasure.
