Ozarks Lyric Opera Presents: Sweet Louisa

September 30

7:30 pm

A world premiere Gothic horror opera written by Katie Kring and Rob Hartmann.
In a remote lighthouse on the shores of Lake Superior, a lighthouse keeper’s wife struggles to hold on to her sanity. As she tries to hold her family together under the constant threat of storms, her husband grows more distant, the locals eye her warily, and her young daughter has endless dreams of shipwrecks. The key to it all may be the gift left by a mysterious young sailor: a porcelain doll called “Sweet Louisa”

A tale inspired by the ghosts of the many Great Lakes wrecks, Sweet Louisa is a chilling and lyrical new opera.
