Start the Conversation is pleased to provide a free three-band concert for Springfield area youth to promote awareness and education on the growing issue of youth suicide. Partnering with faith leaders and mental health professionals, Start the Conversation is providing the tools young people need to start the conversation about the prevention of youth suicide. This event is complimentary to young adults, teens and youth groups but each attendee will need a FREE ticket to attend this family-friendly event. Each ticket holder will receive a voucher for $5 worth of concessions and FREE t-shirt for the first 300 people entering the concert!
The free concert will feature three local groups: Fishing for Saturday, a group of young rock musicians studying music at Pellegrino’s School of Music and Art; The Rosy Hips, a retro rock and soul band with a modern indie pop flair; and Makenna and Brock, who were selected as top 12-group finalists on the hit television show The X-Factor. This evening of good music and fun will be interspersed with education for youth on warning signs, prevention measures, and resources for help for youth suicide.
PLEASE NOTE: Backpacks and large bags/purses are not allowed in the concert venue. All items are subject to search by event security.
